Vita Dr. med. Hermann Solz

Specialist in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery

Dr. med. Hermann Solz was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and completed his medical studies in Rio de Janeiro. From 1983 to 1989 and again from 2005, he worked as a professor of Plastic Surgery at Santa Cecilia University in Santos, Brazil. Here, he served as a professor on behalf of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica), mentoring both students and resident doctors in training to become specialists in Plastic Surgery.

He is significantly involved in the development of specialized surgical techniques (breast augmentation through the armpit) and specialized instruments for facelifts, breast augmentation, and abdominoplasty. He is a specialist in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery in Brazil and Germany, and until 2012, he was authorized and worked as such for further training in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery in both Germany and Brazil.

After completing his studies at the University of Rio de Janeiro, he pursued his specialization in Plastic Surgery with a focus on Aesthetic Surgery in Brazil, Germany, France, Austria, and England.

Since 1989, he has been practicing independently in the field of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and founded the Mannheim Clinic for Plastic Surgery and the Augusta Beauty Clinic, government-concessioned specialized clinics in Mannheim. He has successfully treated over 37,000 patients from 27 countries here. From 2012 until June 2017, he served as the administrative director of the Mannheim Clinic for Plastic Surgery and currently practices as a specialist in Plastic Surgery in Düsseldorf and Ketsch (near Mannheim), Germany, and in Brazil.

Dr. Solz has significantly contributed to techniques in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery of the breast in research and education, particularly in the advancement and standardization of axillary breast augmentation. He is invited as an expert on this subject to international conferences, seminars, and live surgical workshops (with operations broadcasted to the audience) worldwide. In 2003, he performed an axillary breast augmentation as a live surgery for 900 specialists in Plastic Surgery.

Until 2011, annual training courses and surgical workshops (live surgeries) on the topics of breast augmentation and facelifts were conducted by Dr. Solz for the DGPRÄC - German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons (formerly VDPC - Association of German Plastic Surgeons) for resident doctors in training to become specialists in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery.

Dr. Solz has students all over the world. He has trained several hundred Plastic Surgeons from 32 countries (USA, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Australia, China, Japan, Turkey, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Russia, Greece, Czech Republic, Croatia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Italy). His students and the methods and specialized surgical instruments he has developed, especially for axillary breast augmentation, facelifts, and abdominoplasty, are distributed worldwide.

Dr. Solz has dedicated particular attention to the methods of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery of the face (facelift), breast augmentation and reduction, as well as body contouring (liposuction, abdominoplasty, and buttock augmentation).

At national and international congresses and surgical workshops, Dr. Solz was able to share his experiences through more than 80 presentations, live surgeries, workshops, and educational events. He has published over 50 articles in national and international professional journals and has written the chapter on axillary breast augmentation for the textbook 'Aesthetic Surgery' by Prof. Lemperle / Prof. von Heimburg / Dr. Richter (26 pages) (ECOMED), as well as the chapter 'Axillary Breast Augmentation' (VI-1.1.3: pp. 1-26) in the textbook 'Plastic Surgery - Clinic and Practice' by Prof. Krupp, Prof. Rennekampff, Prof. N. Pallua (ECOMED), and the chapter on gluteal augmentation (buttock augmentation) for the reference work by Dr. Jäger (ECOMED).

He served as the congress president of the Association of German Plastic Surgeons (VDPC) and the Association of German Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (VDÄPC) in Heidelberg in 2002, as well as the congress president of the German Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Mannheim in 2004, and the congress president of the 19th International Annual Meeting of the GÄCD (Society for Aesthetic Surgery Germany) in Mannheim in 2006, with Prof. Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, the master of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, as the honorary president.

Due to his multilingual upbringing, Dr. Solz is able to communicate in German, Portuguese, Spanish, English, and French at international congresses, which keeps him constantly informed about the latest treatment methods and surgical techniques. In addition to his role as a lecturer at international congresses, he has participated in 264 congresses and educational events and attended 41 courses in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery until June 2011.

Dr. Solz is a member of the most important surgical professional associations (DGPRÄC, GÄCD, SBCP) and served as a board member of the German Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (DGÄPC) from 2002 to 2006, the oldest professional association in the field of aesthetic surgery in Germany.
