Nowadays, there is a tendency to correct facial contours much earlier, as this helps maintain a natural and dynamic appearance. This procedure is usually performed between the ages of 30 and 40. It is also called 'Model-lift' because it is often requested by young models.

Pre-surgery

To achieve better wound healing, it is advisable to limit smoking one week before and after the procedure and avoid taking anticoagulant medications, after consulting with your treating physician (Aspirin, Marcumar, etc.). Hair dyeing and tinting can be done up to 2 days before the surgery or at least 3 weeks after the surgery.

Surgery

A natural facial expression should be preserved at all costs. The exact incision lines are drawn before local anesthesia is administered, respecting the natural skin lines. Subcutaneous tightening is also advisable in the mini facelift, as it provides a much longer-lasting tightening effect and the tension is not on the skin but on the subcutaneous tissue (SMAS) and muscles. As a result, the scars are usually almost invisible later on, and the appearance looks natural (no mask-like effect).

Anesthesia

The mini facelift or model-lift is usually performed under local anesthesia and on an outpatient basis. Treatment under general anesthesia or twilight sedation is also possible.

Special instruments

For the gentle mini facelift operation a special set of instruments has been developed.

It concerns the Facelift scissors by Dr. Solz. This is distributed worldwide by the company Medicon. Through the application of this special scissors there are fewer bleedings during the operation and a faster recovery due to the gentle procedure.

Hospital stay

A hospital stay is not required. The operation is usually performed under local anesthesia. The procedure is almost painless, and swelling tendency is generally lower compared to eyelid surgery.

After the procedure

Elevate the head for 3 days to avoid swelling. Wash hair after 2 days. Apply disinfectant spray daily. Suture removal after 14 days.
